Outreach
St. Patrick’s Day on the Bayou
Our team was invited by Bayou STEM to share fun and engaging STEM activities with kids in our community! Participants got hands on experience making slime and building their own bristle bots, combining creativity with engineering. They also had a blast playing Plinko with our Center Stage backdrop for a chance to win prizes. One of the highlights of the day was seeing everyone interact with our team’s outreach robot, sparking curiosity and excitement for STEM.
Bayou Children’s Museum, Ron & Jackie Bartels Kids Conservation Festival
Our team helped children explore STEM through fun, hands on activities, including making paper helicopters and creating bayou-themed slime.
Bayou Country Children's Museum, Lego Robotics Camp
Our team guided children through hands-on engineering activities using SPIKE kits, encouraging creativity and problem-solving as they built unique LEGO creations.
Creole Classic Fishing Tournament
To help raise awareness for local nonprofits and underfunded initiatives, our team was invited to participate in an event in Grand Isle. We helped organize prizes, provided fun STEM activities for the kids, and offered support wherever needed. A special highlight was GATR Coolers donated an ice chest for us to transform into a robot.
Bayou Stem Engineer Camp
Our team guided children through a series of hands on STEM activities, including launching bottle rockets, conducting egg drop tests, building aluminum foil boats, and exploring light with laser mirror mazes.
Bayou STEM Qualifier
Our team collaborated with Bayou STEM and the FRC team Bayou Crusaders to co-host the FIRST LEGO League (FLL) Qualifier at Fletcher Community College in Schriever. This regional competition brought together teams from across the area to showcase their innovation and teamwork.
We took on a variety of responsibilities, including volunteering to set up and dismantle the award stage, guiding teams to their judging and match areas, and managing the practice table where we offered guidance to teams on troubleshooting their robots and coding. Our team also operated the concession stand throughout the event, helping ensure a smooth and enjoyable experience for all participants.
King Cake Festival
Our team partnered with the Lafourche Education Foundation and Bayou STEM to promote STEM education within our community. At a non-STEM event, we created an engaging, hands-on experience where kids made slime, built bristle bots, and watched robot demonstrations. To make it even more exciting, we transformed our Center Stagebackdrop into a Plinko board, giving participants a fun way to win prizes while learning about STEM.
Bayou STEM Space Camp
Our team guided children through a variety of hands on STEM activities, including building solar powered moon rovers and constructing a base station. The kids also had the opportunity to launch rockets using common household materials, combining creativity with science and fun!
Bayou Children’s Museum Touch a Truck
Our team assisted children in building Bristle Bots and provided demonstrations of our competition robot, Megalodon, giving participants a hands-on look at robotics in action.
Bayou STEM Lego League
Our team guided children in building and coding SPIKE kits to create their own moving LEGO creations, combining creativity with hands-on engineering and programming.
